When packaging powders into bags, consistent dosing and stable bag formation are critical to avoid product loss and ensure accurate weight control. A vertical form fill seal machine allows you to form, fill, and seal powder products in a continuous automated process.
Form, dose, and seal powder bags in one process
The automatic vertical packing machine (AVP) from Omniprojekt is a fully automated form-fill-seal system designed for packaging powder products into self-forming bags. The machine forms pouches from flat film, doses the product, seals the bag, and discharges finished packs in a continuous or sequential operation.
The process begins with film being pulled over a forming collar, creating a tubular shape. Longitudinal and transverse sealing units then form the bag structure. Powder is dosed into the bag using a servo-driven screw (auger) dosing system, where the rotation speed and angle of the auger determine the fill quantity. This allows accurate and repeatable dosing across a wide range of powder types.
The system supports multiple bag formats, including pillow bags, gusseted bags, and stabilo formats, with bag size determined by the interchangeable collar and tube assembly. Film widths up to 420 mm can be processed, and format changes can be completed quickly by replacing the collar set.
With capacities of up to 40 bags per minute (approx. 2,400 bags/hour), the machine is suited for food, chemical, and nutrition applications such as flour, sugar, spices, cocoa, detergents, and powdered additives.
A 30-litre hopper with level control ensures consistent product feeding to the dosing system, while optional screw conveyors enable automatic replenishment. The system is controlled via a PLC with Siemens HMI, allowing full control of dosing, sealing temperature, and machine functions. Integrated sensor systems monitor performance and support remote access and adjustment.
Optional modules such as checkweighing, inert gas flushing, and inkjet printing can be added to improve product quality, shelf life, and traceability.
