Intermittent-Continuous VFFS Machine for Stand-Up Pouch Packaging

When you produce stand-up pouches for liquids or viscous products, the packaging machine must maintain pouch stability during filling while achieving high production speeds. A hybrid intermittent-continuous system allows accurate pouch forming while maintaining efficient throughput.

Applications

Form and fill stand-up pouches with hybrid motion control

The GPIC packaging machine from Effytec is a vertical form fill seal system that combines intermittent pouch forming with continuous product dosing. This hybrid motion principle improves pouch stability during forming while allowing high packaging speeds for stand-up pouches.

The system can achieve production speeds of up to 160 pouches per minute for 1-liter stand-up pouches, depending on product characteristics and pouch configuration. The machine forms the pouch from roll film, opens the pouch, fills it with the product, and seals it in a controlled packaging cycle.

The GPIC machine is commonly used in markets where stand-up pouches are widely used for liquids and semi-liquid products, such as beverages, dairy products, sauces, and detergents. The hybrid motion system ensures accurate pouch formation and reliable sealing, even for larger pouch formats.

Servo-controlled drives manage film movement and sealing parameters, allowing operators to adjust packaging conditions depending on film structure and product viscosity. The system integrates with upstream product preparation equipment and downstream cartoning or case packing systems.
