Compact Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine for Tablets and Capsules

When you start a pharmaceutical blister packaging line or need a compact machine for medium production volumes, a thermoforming blister machine with small footprint and simple operation helps stabilise packaging quality while keeping the line easy to operate.

Form, fill and seal blister packs in compact packaging lines

The Discovery blister packaging machine from Accupack Engineering is a compact thermoforming blister machine designed for pharmaceutical packaging of tablets and capsules. The system operates in a double-lane configuration and can reach production speeds of up to 300 blisters per minute, making it suitable for medium-capacity pharmaceutical packaging lines.

Blisters are formed from common pharmaceutical thermoforming materials including PVC, PVC/PVDC, duplex and triplex laminates, PVC/Aclar and PP films. Lidding materials such as hard aluminium foil, soft aluminium foil, CR foil and laminated paper allow different pharmaceutical packaging formats including moisture-barrier and child-resistant blister packs.

The machine supports blister pack dimensions up to 222 mm in length and 90 mm in width, with forming depths up to 12 mm. The forming station can operate at up to 150 cutting strokes per minute, allowing flexible blister layouts depending on product size and tooling configuration.

A fully servo-driven mechanism controls indexing and transport of the packaging material, supporting accurate forming and sealing cycles. The machine integrates easily with upstream tablet feeding systems and downstream cartoners to form a complete pharmaceutical packaging line.

Designed with a compact footprint and operator-friendly layout, the Discovery machine is suitable for pharmaceutical manufacturers running multiple SKUs and requiring frequent format changes. Tool-less changeover and remote service capability help reduce downtime during product switches.
